Our family participated in the Earth Day activities tonight to show our support for a good friend and co-worker. Over 200 adults and kids walked to promote Window Blind Safety. It was touching to see so many people there walking together for such a great cause.
Nolan ran his first 1K run and did awesome. He smiled the whole way through the finish line. Receiving the medal at the end was a thrilling experience for him. He wore it proudly and has told us several times that he can't wait to run another one. The kids also got to play games in the field house and give high-fives to the SCSU Huskie and St. Cloud Riverbat mascots. They left with bags full goodies and great memories. Of course the night wasn't complete without a bedtime snack...so, I declared the need for an ice-cream stop before heading home. It was truly an emotional and glorious evening!
