Independence Day ~ 2010
St. Joseph Parade

Our family once again enjoyed another Independence Day. The St. Joseph Parade has been a tradition for us and the kids really look forward to it. We sit in the same spot every year and wait with great anticipation for all the candy, loud marching bands, Shriners on go-karts, horses, firetrucks, and floats with princesses. Nolan and Lilly are both getting a little more brave when it comes to collecting the candy and goodies that are passed out. They went home with a large bag of treats!
After the parade, we always stop at the Subway in town (Nolan's favorite restaurant) and take it to a park for a picnic. The weather permitted us to continue this tradition as well. We spent the afternoon at the Kruse's this year. The kids enjoyed the pool and slip and slide set up in their backyard. We had a potluck/BBQ and then headed to Hester Park in St. Cloud to get the best firework seats in town. (Thank you Bruce!) The show lasted close to 45 minutes this year, and it was awesome! It was a perfect day for our family!
